Aechmea gamosepala

£15.00

A rare and unusual plant offered for sale in UK. Aechmea gamosepala is often commonly called the 'matchstick bromeliad' due to the vivid colours and matchstick like appearance on the flower spike. A tall plant, upto 50cm with the flower spike with long strap like green leaves. The natural habitat is Argentina and Brazil. As with many bromeliads the most important growing method is to make sure the 'cup' at the centre of the plant holds some rain water.
Very tolerant houseplant and like most bromeliads is clump forming. Will create the jungle effect and is a great plant for cleaning the air.
